Disability Allowances and Benefits

In order to be eligible for benefits in Hong Kong, applicants are required to have permanent residency status in Hong Kong (i.e. seven years’ residency is required before benefits are paid).

For all aspects of benefits paid to people with a disability, the Social Welfare Department (SWD) is the responsible department for all Social Security benefits.
